Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Labourer, you will:
- Assist skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools
- Prepare and clean construction sites
- Dig trenches, move earth, and assist with excavation work
- Assemble and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures
- Follow blueprints, instructions, and site supervisor directions
- Maintain safety standards and wear required protective equipment
- Dispose of debris and maintain site cleanliness
- Support general construction operations as needed
Requirements
- Previous construction or labour experience is an asset but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work
- Willingness to work outdoors in different weather conditions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions carefully
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Basic safety awareness (WHMIS or safety training is an asset)
- No formal education required in most cases
