Key Responsibilities
As a Caregiver / Support Worker, you will:
- Assist clients with daily personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when required
- Support mobility and safe transfers of clients
- Monitor client health and report changes to supervisors or healthcare professionals
- Assist with medication reminders (as permitted by employer guidelines)
- Perform light housekeeping duties
- Support elderly, disabled, or recovering individuals
- Maintain accurate care notes and documentation
- Ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for clients
Requirements
- Previous caregiving or healthcare support experience is an asset but not always required
- Compassionate, patient, and caring personality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks and assist clients safely
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices
- High school diploma preferred (caregiver training is an asset)
- First Aid / CPR certification is an asset depending on employer
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends
